Trade mark applicants sometimes receive official looking communications requesting payment of fees relating to particular trade marks. It should be borne in mind that if you are represented by a trade mark attorney, requests for payment of fees will always come via your representative. We advise all applicants to carefully review any communications they receive which request payment and to check with their representative whether the organisation requesting payment is official before parting with any money.
Please remember that the only official Registers relating to trade marks in the UK are those maintained by the British Trade Marks Registry, the Community Trade Marks Office and the World Intellectual Property Office.
