About us
ROOME ASSOCIATES is a Midlands based consultancy which advises on all aspects of the registration and protection of trade marks worldwide.
The practice was founded by Ann Roome. Ann is a UK registered Trade Mark Attorney, a Member of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys, (the UK professional body dedicated to the protection of trademarks), an Authorised Representative before the Community Trade Mark Office and a Member of the European Communities Trade Mark Association.
The firm has extensive experience in advising Clients on how to obtain and protect their trade mark rights. Past experience includes handling the trade mark requirements and portfolios of multinational corporations, SME's owner managed companies, start-ups and individual traders.
Ann Roome

Ann qualified as a UK Trade Mark Attorney in 1992. She is a Member of the Institute of Trade Marks Attorneys, an Authorised Representative before the Community Trade Mark Office and a Member of the European Communities Trade Mark Association.
She has worked with a wide range of Clients including multi-nationals, SMEs and individuals. She has extensive experience of advising on all kinds of trade mark matters including advising on the availability of trade marks in the UK, the EU and worldwide. She files and prosecutes UK, EU and International trade mark applications and also handles allied contentious matters, including oppositions and revocations. She works closely with like minded associates overseas to ensure that her Clients obtain good advice on protecting their IP worldwide.

Michaela Selvester
Trade Mark Attorney
Michaela is a qualified UK Trade Mark Attorney. She is a Member of the Institute of Trade Marks Attorneys and an Authorised Representative before the Community Trade Mark Office. She started her career in the IP department of an International Engineering firm based in the Midlands. She also worked for a large firm of Midlands Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys, before joining Roome Associates in 2010.
She practises in all areas of trade mark work, including advising upon the availability and registrability of trade marks; filing and
prosecuting of UK, Community, International,and
foreign trade mark applications; trade mark due diligent searches; contentious trade mark matters including filing and prosecuting oppositions, revocations, and applications for invalidity. She also advises on preparing and recording UK, Community, International and foreign trade mark assignments, as well as infringement and passing off matters.
